Baldur O. Svavarsson (born 1957) is a Master of Architecture from The Oslo Shool of Architecture 1984. Worked for three years abroad (Oslo Norway) and started Uti og Inni sf together with Jon Thor Thorvaldsson in 1990.
Jon Thor Thorvaldsson (born 1956) is a Master of Architecture from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts In Copenhagen 1984. The firm has been involved in several projects, re-designing familiy houses, schools, offices and other buildings.
The firm was chosen to reprecent Iceland in a joint Nordic exhibition at the 6th architectural bienale in Venice in 1996. The bienale is the biggest world wide architectural exhibition held. The exhibition was called “The New Generation Of the North” and consisted of 4 representatives from each of the five Nordic countries. The firm was nominated on behalf of Iceland for the European Council award for outstanding architecture, the so called Mies van der Rohe award, for the year 1998. The project is Engjaskoli district primary school in Reykjavik. The Firm has been nominated for the DV (Icelandic newspaper) price for architecture four times.
